About Şişecam
Şişecam is a global glass manufacturer with more than 90 years of history and over 45 production facilities. The company serves industries including automotive, construction, appliances, pharmaceuticals, food, beverage, and energy.
The challenge
Glass production lines are fast-moving and complex, with process deviations occurring daily.
Glass gobs can go off path. Containers can get stuck in moulds, jam on conveyors, or fall and break during transport. If not addressed quickly, these issues lead to scrap, downtime, and in severe cases, machine damage, fires, or worker safety risks.
Because of the speed and complexity of the lines, manual monitoring alone made it difficult to detect, document, and resolve these incidents in time.
Şişecam needed a solution that could:
- Continuously monitor critical production areas
- Detect deviations early
- Trigger preventive action in real time
- Automatically capture incidents and footage for root cause analysis

The solution
Şişecam deployed Cerrion across its Eskişehir glass packaging plant to monitor production lines in real time and detect issues such as glass jams and fallen containers.
When an issue is detected, Cerrion can automatically trigger a response, including sound alarms that allow production teams to act quickly. Each incident is also captured for analysis, helping teams understand what happened and investigate the root causes of production losses.
Impact and outcomes
- 1.5% increase in yield
- Expansion across 12 production lines
- Automated response to detected production issues
- Improved line performance within weeks of deployment

From pilot to global rollout
Following the results from the initial deployment, including a 1.5% increase in yield and a reduction in safety risks, Şişecam expanded Cerrion across 12 production lines at its Eskişehir glass packaging plant.
The expanded deployment gives production teams broader coverage across the plant, with AI detecting production issues in real time, triggering automated responses, and capturing incidents for follow-up and root cause analysis.
